1. SteelSeries Arctis 7 – Lossless Wireless Gaming Headset
Steelseries Arctis 7 offers a lossless 2.4 GHz wireless connection, awesome sound with its premium drivers inside and a very modern, high quality construction. The design change from the previous SteelSeries Arctis 7 model is not major. Rather in silver, the headband is now black and has a somewhat different style. Other than that, the padding is slightly thicker on the ear cups, but the design is still the same. The cups are large and their microphone is retractable.
The 2020 version of the SteelSeries Arctis 7 is just as comfortable as the previous one. The ear cups have a lot more padding, however, which allows them to be a bit thicker and more optimized for larger ears. The updated SteelSeries Arctis 7 2020 Edition control scheme is the same as for the previous edition. A mic-mute click, channel mixer wheel, and volume wheel are still available. The tires are much more textured but work pretty much the same. Due to their soft padding on the ear cups, the SteelSeries Arctis 7 2020 version is very breathable, helping air circulation.
And you won’t have to worry about charging it often, either. This headset delivers up to 24 hours of play time on a single charge thanks to its rechargeable Li-ion battery, and it’s relatively comfortable to wear for long periods of time. You will find that most other helmets tend to deliver between 10 and 20 hours.
- Sleek and affordable
- Great audio quality
- 24 hour battery life
- ClearCast retractable microphone
- Personalization software
- Excellent value
2. Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Wireless Surround Sound Gaming Headset for PS5
The Turtle Beach Stealth has a clunky design, but the sound quality is impressive to the ears. After Sony Gold, Turtle Beach has produced a solid and practical headset for PS5, it has unique advantages, including the “Surhuman Hearing” mode and amplification. It has low latency, which makes it perfect for games and videos.
It has a bulky and delicate design that looks a bit bumpy on the head and is not intended for outdoor use as it is specially made for PS5. The ear cups are spacious and well padded. The padding on the headband is cool.
The all-plastic design and fabric used for the upholstery is not that premium. The control system is easy to use and includes volume control, a power switch and a fold-to-mute function. The breathability of the helmet is above average thanks to the porous fabric which makes it comfortable for long sessions.
It cannot be folded into a compact size, and due to its size, is not portable. It is available in two colors black and white with contrast. The helmet is highly adjustable and should fit comfortably on most heads.
In the box with Turtle Beach Stealth 600, you will receive a USB transmitter dongle, USB charging cable and manuals.
The Stealth 600 comes with good battery life and average software / application support. The battery can last up to 16 hours and it takes about 2 hours to fully charge. It comes with an automatic shut-off timer as a battery saving feature. Unfortunately, you can’t use wired mode on the Sony Stealth 600, but its lifespan is doubled.
- Eyeglass-friendly design
- Flip-up to mute the microphone
- The sound quality of the Stealth 600 is fantastic.
- Direct wireless connection
3. Sony Noise Cancelling Headphones WH1000XM3: Wireless Bluetooth Over the Ear Headset
You would be hard pressed to find another wireless headset with the sound quality and functionality of Sony’s dedicated PlayStation Platinum headset. In fact, we’d say it’s pretty much an impossible task – the Sony headphones have a fantastic mix of price and performance. If the Platinum is overpriced, we really recommend the Gold version, which costs around $40 / £ 30 less, but doesn’t offer quite the same quality of sound or the added metallic trim.
The 50mm drivers might lack a bit of power at the low end, but they have an impressive level of clarity for their overall audio. They also connect perfectly to your PS5 offering game-specific audio profiles. But the big tick for them is 7.1 virtual surround which connects to these profiles. Well, that and the fact that your headset battery will likely outlast your controller battery.
It should be noted that since both Platinum and Gold headsets are official Sony PlayStation, they were also designed with the PlayStation VR headset in mind. This means that they will fit snugly and comfortably on your head when wearing the helmets in conjunction with the PSVR gear. Check out the best PlayStation VR packs here to complete such a package.
- Designed exclusively for the PlayStation 5
- Super comfortable
- Elegant look
- The companion application is quite redundant
4. SENNHEISER GSP 670 Wireless Gaming Headset For PS5
Sennheiser, a dedication to high quality audio, the Sennheiser GSP 670 sits at the top of its gaming headset line. Low latency wireless connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity and other features also add to this. premium headset for under $350. While I think this is the best wireless gaming headset, there are other downsides. Watch the video below to hear more thoughts and hear them in action.
To add additional functionality, the GSP 670 also has Bluetooth connectivity. Sadly, it’s not as smooth as some of the other helmets I’ve used in the past. I had the GSP 670 connected to my PC via the dongle, and for it to go into bluetooth pairing mode, I had to remove the dongle and wait for the voice to prompt me with “dongle disconnected” before I could connect it to my iPhone. You cannot use them simultaneously. Even with its excellent design, the GSP 670 was quite comfortable for me. The wide headband with soft ear cups was not too heavy on my head. The atria rotate and
There are adjustable sliders on the top of the headset which help dial in. Battery life is estimated at around 20 hours which is close to what I was getting. Another advantage of soundproofing is that I didn’t have to mount the headphones as loud as others I’ve used in the past. It’s good for your ears to save your hearing, but also for the battery life of the GSP 670.
- Excellent microphone quality
- Audiophile-level sound stage
- Optional 7.1 virtual surround sound
- Good boom mute system
- Wonderfully balanced audio

5. HyperX Cloud Flight – Wireless Gaming Headset, with Long Lasting Battery
The wireless version of the HyperX Cloud Stinger offers a solid set of features, with slight improvements over its wired predecessor. This includes a more balanced sound and arguably better design.
Synthetic leather ear cushions and memory foam ear cushions perfectly fit angled speakers and large ear cushion openings to keep ears nice and firm. The headband is also surprisingly comfortable. It comes with 12 clicks so you can customize the setting to your preference.
Using the USB wireless dongle, the Cloud Stinger Wireless works with a PC and PlayStation 5 right out of the box. It also connects seamlessly to Nintendo Switch, but only when connected.
Although the Cloud Stinger Wireless comes with two “variants”, both are exactly the same. The only difference is the color. It comes with black with blue borders for the PS5 edition and an all black colourway for the PC edition.
